The strongest Icelandic Chess Championship in history is taking place from 14-24th May, 2015, in Reykjavik (Harpa) Iceland.
8 GMs and 7 former previous winners of the Championship will be vying in a 12-player round-robin tournament with an average Elo rating of 2461 and tempo of play 90′/ 40 + 30′ + 30″.
A comeback of GM Johann Hjartarson (first appearance in Championship for 18 years) and GM Jón L. Árnason (first appearance in ICC for 24 years!!) should make this tournament extremely interesting!
