Janelle Mae Frayna was given a testimonial dinner by her alma mater Thursday, for her feat of becoming the Philippines’ first Woman Grandmaster in the 42nd Chess Olympiad held in Baku, Azerbaijan, last month.
Far Eastern U also handed Frayna a P100,000 check and promised to support her quest to join the 2018 Women’s World Championship.
Frayna is likewise an academic achiever, a candidate for cum laude honors when she graduates with a BS Psychology degree in May.
