England’s leading junior player Yang Fan Zhou scored his first GM result at the Big Slick International at Purley. An eighth-round victory over Alexander Longson left Yang Fan needing just a draw in his final game and he won the GM group with 7/9. GMs Bogdan Lalic, Danny Gormally and Keith Arkell scored 5.5/9.
