Oct 8, 2011 The International Chess Tournament “Open Skopje 2011″ will be held in hotel “Continental” from 23rd October to 1st November. The tournament is part of the Balkan Grand Prix Tour and is organized by the FYROM Chess Federation and Alkaloid AD – Skopje.
The prize fund is 8000 EUR, while the first place is 1500 EUR worth. The organisers guarantee participation of minimum 20 foreign players, which is necessary FIDE criteria for obtaining norms for international titles. All relevant information can be found in the Tournament Regulations.
Note: The arrival day for The European Team Chess Championship in Porto Carass, Greece, is 2nd November. The organisers will offer bus transfer for all interested participants and accompanying persons from Skopje to Porto Carass (or to Thessaloniki Airport – as a transfer point).
