Irina Krush, the strongest ever homegrown female player in the US, my teammate in 2004 at the Olympiad, just finished a 6-game match with German’s top female player IM Elizabeth Pahtz, runner up of the 2006 Women’s World Chess Cup.
The first 4 games were drawn. Irina struck first in game 5 and held on for a draw in game 6 to win the match by the score of 3.5 – 2.5.
