Politiken Cup 2011

22 Grandmasters have signed up for the 2011 edition of Politiken Cup eight months before the start of the event. Top seeded of the summer festival so far is GM Igor Kurnosov (2676), who will be competing against at least 12 players over 2600 – GM Igor Moiseenko, GM Peter Heine Nielsen, GM Georg Meier, GM Jan Gustafsson, GM Boris Savchenko, GM Emanuel Berg, GM Michal Krasenkow, GM Igor Khenkin, GM Vladimir Baklan,GM Julian Radulski, and GM Sune Berg Hansen.

Politiken Cup is one of the top open chess competitions of Europe. The event started in 1979 and is growing every year, reaching 293 players from 27 countries in 2010. The early strong start for the new edition guarantees a fantastic event for 2011.
