Zia maintains sole lead
GM Ziaur Rahman maintained his sole lead with 8 points after ninth round of the Berger Paints National A Chess, which is being held at the media centre of Bangladesh Olympic Association.
Zia got the better of Masum Hossain after 31 moves in the ninth round match yesterday. GM Enamul Hossain was in second position with 7.5 points after beating CM Mahtabuddin while defending champion GM Abdullah Al Rakib was in third position with 7 points as he beat FM Debaraj Chatterjee. GM Niaz Murshed, who beat CM Sohel Chowdhury yesterday, was in fourth position with 6.5 points.
