Grandmaster Tej Kumar felicitated

Mysuru, September 8:- First grandmaster of Karnataka, M S Tej Kumar was felicitated by District Chess Association at Mysuru Press Club here on Friday.
“I was able to achieve this with the help and encouragement from everyone. Sponsors, trainers and family members have encouraged me throughout,” said Tej Kumar.
“A player needs 2,500 points to be a grandmaster. I reached to 2,000 points earlier and it took more time to score the remaining points,” he added.
Tej Kumar’s father Shivaramegowda, wife Jayashri, trainer C K Muralidharan, sponsor Yashaswi Shankar, Karnataka State Chess Association vice president Nagendra and others were present.
