On September 24, “The King of Football” Pelé celebrated his 75th anniversary. The FIDE delegation headed by Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and FIDE Vice President, President of Russian Chess Federation Andrey Filatov, was invited to London for the celebrations, which were held in the Halcyon Gallery. At the celebrations were present the representatives of the creative establishment, business and banking community, and various mass media. All inviters had an opportunity to take a photo with Pelé. Despite the existing severe restrictions on the acceptance of gifts and souvenirs in connection with the advertising obligations, the legend of football got different sets of chess from the FIDE representatives. The FIDE delegation was also represented by Tserendorj Sainbayar, President of Mongolian Chess Federation, and Berik Balgabaev, FIDE President’s Assistant.
