After eight rounds of play ISEK Aquamatch Sport Club became the sole leader of the Turkish İş Bank League with 15 points. The team won 7 matches and made the only draw in the match with Celikkol Turizm Pamukkale UNV Club.
A former leader of the championship Yapi Credi Club lost two matches today and placed in the second position with 12 points. Three other clubs (Adana Truva Chess Club, ITU Club, Gazi University Club) share 3rd place with 11 points.
The Turkey İş Bank Chess League 2011 is taking place 27 June – 09 July in the Konya-Hilton Garden Inn Otel. It is one of the top club competitions of Europe, featuring 36 grandmasters and 86 titled players.
