The Polgar Chess Center December Scholastic Championship has just concluded! The event drew 25 players from as young as 5 to 15. The overall winner (as well as grade 7-12) is Caroline Ho with a perfect 4.0 score. She also got the top girl award!
In the grade 4-6 section, David Lu and Nathaniel Kamer tied for 1st while Casey Durant captured 3rd on tie-breaks.
In the K-3 section, Tommy Polgar and Dylan Kosinski tied for 1st with 3.5 / 4 (they drew each other in the final round) while Christopher Vazan captured 3rd on tie-breaks. Samritha Palakollu is only 5 years old and she scored 3 points out of 4 to tie for 3rd!
