There are only 8 players remaining in the Women’s World Chess Cup in Dresden, Germany.
Here are the match ups for tomorrow:
IM Pahtz (Germany) vs. IM Kachiani (Germany) ———-
WIM Chang (Brasil) vs. IM Sebag (France) —————–
IM Socko (Poland) vs. WGM Lujan (Argentina) ————-
GM Polgar (USA) vs. WGM Ushenina (Ukraine) ————-
In case of ties after 2 games, the players will have soccer penalty kicks. The winner of the penalty kick can choose black with 4′ + 2″ inc and draw odd vs. white with 5′ + 2″ inc.
There have been a lot of upsets so far. In a 2 game match, ANYTHING can happen! When you add the element of penalty kick to pick the color for the decisive sudden death game, the element of excitement increases.
It is hard to predict anything at this moment. I will just have to make the best moves I find and hope that I am on top of my game.
