The Idaho Chess Association Scholastic Girls Chess Championship is Feb. 21. It is open to all girls attending Idaho schools, grades K-12.
The entry fee of $10 must be received by 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, or postmarked by Saturday, Feb. 14. After Feb. 19 and at the door, the entry fee will be $15. Entry is free for players traveling more than 90 miles one way to the tournament.
The tournament will take place at Washington Elementary School, 1607 N. 15th St., in Boise. It will have three completely separate playing sections: Grades K-3, 4-6, and 7-12.
Membership in the U.S. Chess Federation will be required for only the 7-12 group, because of USCF ratings for that section.
Memberships may be purchased at tournament. Be prepared to show your current USCF card.
