The five star Grand Hotel will host the 2009 edition of the Games Festival in Thessaloniki from 26th of April until May 4th. This year the event is breaking the participation record, this time expecting over 1000 participants and thousands of visitiors in the expo events, making the Games festival one of the largest events in the world.
In the chess events, including the Thessaloniki Open, the World Amateur chess championship, and the World School chess championship, are expected 600 players from all continents.
The official site of the 5th Games Festival is now available and news will be added on a daily basis. Registration for the event is open, if you are planning a nice spring vacation now is the time to combine it with good chess, bridge, scrabble, darts, or sudoku competition.
